The drops of life fell
pacing through the air, rushing almost
losing their way in her hair, but not mine
His children ran amuck,
away from his love, shielding themselves
I stood there alone, soaking it in every pore of my being
But alone I was not quite
She stood there too, hands widespread.
Eyes closed, the glee gushing
The drops finally found their way out
We looked at each other,
like two children delighted
Our souls met when our eyes crossed
The cold rain had struck a fire alight
